PeltoAI & BioEväät

See the presentation of the projects PeltoAI and BioEväät in Finnish.

Climate change affects agriculture. Sometimes growth is limited by drought, while sometimes heavy rains and floods make arable farming difficult, thereby affecting, for example, the structure of the land. The good growing condition of the arable land, ie the balance of soil moisture, nutrients and microorganisms, for example, increases the productivity of cultivation.

In the BioEväät and PeltoAI project pair, will do practical level actitivies and those functionalities are monitored by traditional sampling, but at the same time digital measurement methods are also clarified and tested.

In the BioEväät project, monitoring methods for practical pilots and measures carried out in collaborative facilities are being developed in the PeltoAI project.

The methods used are e.g. remote sensing, testing of digital measurement methods, drone surveys and testing of soil measuring devices. The collected data is exported to the spatial data-based peltodata.fi Service, where digital information obtained from different sources is combined and analyzed.

The information and practices gathered on practical activities and measurement technology will be shared with farmers in the area through seminars, demonstrations, workshops and training.

The projects are managed by the Pyhäjärvi Institute.
